Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the Australian Federal Government is keeping all Australians in Australia until they deem it is safe to travel overseas. If you have a strong case, you can apply to the Australian Federal Government for an exemption.

We have been extremely lucky to be in Queensland, as we can travel to anywhere in Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia, Norfolk Island, ACT but it must be on direct flights. We can also travel to Northern NSW. You still need an entry permit to enter some states and also a re-entry permit to return home to Queensland. We can advise you on more of these requirements on booking your holiday. This is continuously changing, so if unsure please ask us.

Currently, there are no travel insurance policies that we can sell you. We have to wait for the stabilisation of the affects of covid-19 before our insurance companies will allow us to sell a travel policy.

Yes, most airlines have already set rules for international travel and you must abide by their rules to be accepted on their flights. Eg. You may need a negative covid-19 test result within 96 hours of departure if you are travelling on Emirates, Qatar or Etihad. Some airlines are requesting you wear a facial mask during the flight and obviously there is still social distancing and hand wash and wipes. I would recommend you take wipes, hand wash and a mask with you for all travel, whether it be domestic or international. We can give you the airlines guidelines when we book your flights.

It depends on which country you are travelling to. Some countries your passport only has to be valid whilst you are in their country whilst others you have to have your passport valid for at least 6 months after departing their country. We can advise you of this.

It depends on which countries you are travelling to. A lot of countries offer Australians a visa free stay, whilst other countries you do need to organise a visa prior to arrival in their country. We can advise you of this when doing your booking and assist you with the visa process.

Check with your mobile phone provider for costs and details to use your phone overseas. Most providers will connect international roaming to your phone free of charge prior to departure but calls and data can be very expensive. Most providers do offer international travel plans so you need to check with them for details. However, as a general rule if you turn off your mobile data at the airport before you depart and then only connect to wifi whilst away, there will be no charges on your phone. There are some great apps now eg What’s App that is fabulous for using overseas and you can make calls and video calls free of charge whilst you are in wifi. You always have the option of purchasing prepaid sim cards on arriving depending on the country you are visiting.

This varies with each airline. Some airlines are charging for seat reservations and other airlines still offer free seat allocation. It also depends on the fare type you have paid. The cheaper the fare, the less likely you will have free seat allocation. Emergency exit row seats that will give you extra leg room are always paid seats and can only be used by passengers that are fit and willing to assist in an emergency. The prices for paid seat allocation vary depending on the location of the seats as well, so on booking we can advise you of the cost of seat allocation. Also, if you are a frequent flyer, you may have seat allocation free of charge as part of the program. But overall the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting the seats you want.

Most full serviced airlines, do include check-in baggage with your airfare, however the amounts can differ. Some airlines offer it in pieces eg 1 or 2 pieces of check in baggage and others do it on the weight system which may be 20 or 23 kgs/person for economy class, 30 kgs/person for business and 40kgs/person for first class. Each airline has varying rules so we would advise on booking your flights. The budget carriers do not normally include check in luggage, and we would advise you of the cost for the check in luggage as it would go on to your airfare when booking. Excess baggage rates at the airport can be vary expensive so be careful of how much luggage you are carrying.

If you are a single traveller, some tour companies will offer to twin share you with another fellow traveller of the same sex. They try to match you up with a similar aged person. Other tour companies don’t offer this and you would need to pay a single supplement. We do have some tours that are specifically designed for singles.

If you intend to hire a car or motorhome on your international holiday, most companies do require an international driver’s license. When we book your car hire, we can advise of the requirements on collection of the vehicle. RACQ do issue international driver’s licenses so you can check with them regarding cost if you require one. When we book your car hire or motorhome, it is always a good idea to take the reduced excess option right at the time of booking, as it is normally cheaper for us to do this rather than you pay the additional insurance with the car rental company on pick up. You need to be careful of inclusions and make sure you know what is included and if there is additional charges on pick up.
