Depart Australia today for Johannesburg. On arrival, we will be transferred to our hotel for overnight accommodation near Johannesburg Airport.
After breakfast, we will take a flight to Maun to start our Botswana adventure. On arriving at Maun Airport, we will check
in for our light aircraft flight to Moremi. This flight gives you a scenic view of the amazing ecosystem called the Okavango
Delta. Upon landing at the airstrip, our guide will transfer us to our camp. The friendly, attentive staff will help you feel
immediately at home and brief you on what to look forward to on your safari. The magic of a mobile camp becomes
apparent as the sun sets and you enjoy drinks around the fire before a starlit dinner and a great night’s rest after falling
asleep to the sounds of the African bush. Whilst camping we have all meals, wine, beer, G&T, Amarula, selected soft
drinks, fruit juice and bottled water included and all entrance fees for National Parks and Game Reserves are included.
The Moremi Game Reserve lies in the eastern corner of the Okavango Delta. One of the most beautiful and diverse of all
the great game reserves of Africa, it protects both huge concentrations of wildlife and incredible scenery. The reserve
consists of both seasonally – inundated areas such as Xakanaxa, and the drier areas such as Khwai. On the safari, we will
set out to reveal some of the secrets of this dynamic ecosystem.

We spend our first 2 nights camping in the Xakanaxa/Third Bridge area, we explore the surrounding wilderness on game drives during the day. The Moremi Game Reserve protects around a third of the entire Okavango Delta ecosystem – some 5000 square kms.

Following an early breakfast, your safari team breaks camp and you’ll set off towards Khwai, enjoying a scenic journey with a bush picnic lunch on-route. The Khwai River marks the boundary between the Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Community Concession, a wildlife rich area known for its diverse ecosystems. We’ll spend the next 2 nights camping in the Khwai area, with daily game drives to explore the stunning Khwai floodplains.

More game drives today. A highlight of your stay will be a 2.5 hour mokoro excursion offering a peaceful and immersive way to discover the region’s channels and lagoons in a traditional dug-out canoe.

We head further north on-route to Chobe National Park, where we will spend the following 2 nights camping at a pristine bush campsite in the Savute region and exploring the dry landscape on game drives. Savute is an area that can change dramatically, with the character of the place changing completely depending on the flowing or drying up of the Savute Channel.
(B,L,D)
The most important landmarks in Savute is the Savute Marsh and the Savute Channel. The Marsh itself is one of the most exciting wildlife destinations in Africa – anything can, and often does, happen there. Rising above level landscape of Savute are the Ghoba and Gubatsa Hills which hide perfectly preserved San Bushmen paintings. The Savute Hills have a very healthy population of leopard and the best time to see them is first or last light. The Savute Channel is known as the “stolen river” and its recent history includes when it has dried up for several years, only to flow again due to tectonic movements. This means you could encounter either a river or a dry savannah grassland. Beyond the channel, this area consists of large open game-filled plains and is home to a variety of dry-land animals including zebra, wildebeest, kudu, giraffe, wild dog, cheetah and lion.

The lush Chobe River Front is renowned for its abundance of elephants, the highest concentration found anywhere in the world. Chobe is also noted for its huge herds of buffalo, it’s rich birdlife and exquisite sunsets reflected in the river. This afternoon we will enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River which departs from Kasane.
